Westbound Amtrak train #353, the "Wolverine" is seen coming off the former Michigan Central at Porter, Indiana on December 4th, 2021 at 3:10 pm with IDTX 4603 and 5 cars. View looks N/N/W from the Jackson Blvd. crossing. Porter tower was at left. The west leg of the EJ&E wye would have come across where the gate is.
Amtrak’s Wolverine trains travel between Chicago and Pontiac, Michigan three times a day in each direction. It is the longest Michigan rail route, but not all trains travel the entire distance between these two cities. Stations include:
