Family Insignia Pallet Coffee Table Est. 1973

This Insignia Pallet Coffee Table project was pretty straightforward as much of my coffee tables. However, I did something a little different and incorporated the family name and date.

Insignia Pallet Coffee Table:

First, I built a frame for the table using pallet stringers. I used the areas of stringers that had the forklift arches into the ends of the table frame for decorative purposes. Next, I cut the legs to length from 4x4" posts and installed them to the inside of the table frame. Then, I cut the six deck boards to length and installed them from the top onto the table frame. I painted the family insignia, name, and date onto the table and allowed it to dry. Finally, I coated with four coats of water based Varathane, sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper on the last two coats to create that soft finish.

Terrific table - nicely done! But with a beautiful table, you'll need a nice Entertainment Center too!
