Kadur_Sandesh_Bee_eaters

I came across a small colony of bee-eaters by the side of a gravel road on the outskirts of Nagarhole National Park. The late day sun reflected off their bright green bodies in beautiful contrast to the rich soil and I started taking pictures of these comical birds. 40 or 50 pictures later, they aligned themselves beside each other and the last one flew in and spread its wings out, making for an endearing, yet quizzical scene.

(Bright green bodies of the Little Green Bee-eater Merops orientalis, lie in distinct contrast to the red earth. During mid to late afternoon, these comical birds frequently bask in the sun.)
