Hoping For Peace

This is from Cromer’s New Year firework display on 1st January. Cromer has a carnival atmosphere with a torchlight procession preceding the firework display. The firework display is provided by the same people who do the New Years Eve fireworks in London. Around 15,000 people come to see the fireworks, double the town’s population. We braved the weather to have a picnic at the beach hut, prior to the fireworks. I’ve put the word ‘hope’ in the title in recognition of some of my family who can’t watch fireworks currently because they’re so traumatised by the distressing scenes from the war in Gaza. And they live hundreds of miles away. I’m hoping for a permanent ceasefire now and for peace. And I’m hoping for the resources to be provided to help ameliorate the damage done to people living through the nightmare.
