Buried Treasure
I’ve been tidying up so as to make room for Christmas. Buried in the clutter, I found three strips of negatives. These are from the days I used a Pentax SP 500 SLR camera. The negatives were battered and dusty, and how they got there, a mystery. With the aid of an app on the phone and the light from the screen of my laptop, I ‘rescued’ three images I liked. This is one of them. My sister identified it as the walkway at Bapco beach in Bahrain. The walkway went from the beach to a platform in the sea. The image makes me feel happy, so I guess I really enjoyed swimming there. For now, back to tidying. But in 2023, I will retrieve the cache of negatives, carefully stored in the attic, and look for more treasures. There are a lot, so I’ll just take my time and enjoy it.
