RT1 had a cantilever platform like the postwar RT3 type body.
There were other mods to come as the shaft driven dynamo and compressor are still fitted.they were later split one either side of the gearbox and belt driven off a pulley on the front of the gearbox,some fifty 1/2RT buses had just the compressor driven by belt but that system caused severe bearing problems due to uneven load stress.
