Spruce Goose's one and only flight

Nov. 2, 1947: The Hughes Aircraft H-4 Hercules "Spruce Goose" during its short flight in the Long Beach-Los Angeles Harbor.

It got up to 70 feet and flew for one mile.

power was from 8 Pratt & Whitney 3,000hp radials.
