London Airport.

An Avro York parked by what is now mostly northside staff car parks Heathrow..When I was at school in the 1950s this area was the main passenger terminal.A collection of huts served as customs, passenger lounges and restaurant.Security was non existant us kids often got out to the aircraft.

When they were building the tunnel and the Queens building

you could ride over on a 90A bus operated by Twickenham garage. The bus had to cross the main runway, a convoy was formed and you went over at high speed behind a ministry Land Rover.
