Ruins of a Cactus

The structure of this cactus stalk is what first drew me to shoot this. (Zoom in its quite interesting )This stalk is all that remains of a Teddbybear cholla cactus.

While we were in Joshua Tree National park there where these cactus and their carcass's all over the place. I took this one at an area called Cholla Cactus Garden. I have several shots of the longer stalks but none of them seemed as interesting as this one did.
