Bonzsai Rock Lake Tahoe

Over the last few weeks Northern Nevada has had a stream of storms one after another. This is great because we need the water, sucks for landscape pictures. While I personally love the textures of gray clouds and the ominous feeling they bring with them, they generally speaking create rather boring sunsets.

I took a chance one day last week when the forecast was predicting a slight break in the clouds around Sunset, and having just learned of Bonzsai Rock I wanted to see it for myself. I was bummed at the sky but the beauty of the location made it worth while.

Like all trips to Tahoe, its one of those places your never sorry you went. I hung around well after everyone else had left just playing around and watching the storm come across the lake.

I was just about to leave when there was a slight splash of light that created a mellow glow in the clouds and lit up the area with this wonderful warm candle like light.
