80:20 rule
The 80:20 rule applied to the old user interface of the Microsoft Xbox 360.
They hid most of the features of the xbox 360 by using the "blade system". Similar to a toolbar, each blade houses several features associated with the subject matter. This UI allows the user to access the critical 20% of features while hiding the least used features within each blade.
While the new xbox one's "windows 8 pin system" is stylish, many prefer the simplicity and functionality of the old "blade system". I think a large part of that comes from how hard it is to find the important features on the xbox one compared to the old 360 UI.
