Normal Distribution

Assertion: Normal distribution is a probability model that helps describe data. When plotted, the data takes the shape of a symmetrical bell-shaped curve that visually demonstrates concepts of frequency and standard deviation in a statistical set. This concept was coined by a gambling consultant called de Moivre, but has been a central statistical concept for probability modeling since then.

Evidence: The subject of this photograph is called a Galton board and it demonstrates the normal distribution of binomial variables within a set. One can see the outline of the symmetrical bell curve over a set of ball bearings that have been dropped through a series of pegs with two main path options originating at the top.

Commentary: This is the LEAST boring image I could find for normal distribution.
