Outside of the anchor buildings, the Palisades Center Mall was built with hulking, gray concrete curtain-wall, completely devoid of ornamentation. It looks like a distribution center, with store logos randomly attached. From the beginning, the mall included non-traditional anchors, such as BJ's Wholesale Club, Target and Home Depot, as well as traditional anchors Filenes (now Macy's), Lord & Talylor and JC Penney.
