Empire Terminal
Built in 1939, designed by Albert Lakeman, the former Empire Terminal is an Art Moderne building. Originally a terminal for Imperial Airways, this was the nexus point for passengers, mail and freight, being on a main road, with Victoria Coach Station over the road, and Victoria Station behind - where everything could be loaded onto a rail service direct to Southampton and the Imperial's flying boats.
It is now home to the National Audit Office.
