A brief encounter
You know it can happen, but you also know the chances of it happening are almost zero.
While you are watching a shrike sitting high in a tree, you see something moving in your peripheral vision, and your attention shifts to it. Your heart starts beating faster. Something is trotting towards you, and you turn on your camera and aim it at the animal.
Shit, it won't focus, I hope it doesn't let me down,........... oh, luckily it works, and you quickly come alongside at 30 meters.
You try to focus, which sometimes works, and other times it doesn't because of the bushes and the tall grass.
Let's hope for a decent photo, that backlight also isn't everything either.
You see the animal looking at you nervously and walking around you, and it disappears behind a row of trees. It will probably cross your path on the path behind you, so you carefully walk back and sit low to have a better angle.
It takes a long time before you see him again, would he still cross, YES!!! there he comes, but you only see his butt, shit... Turn around! Finally!! he goes off the path, now about 100 meters away from you, and then he disappears between the trees to the next field.
About 1 minute later it is all over, and then it slowly dawns on you: you have just seen a wolf!
