Dhalaugiri view (In Explore 09-09-2024)

It's already more than three months since I came back from Nepal, and I haven't posted anything of the Dhalaugiri massive yet.

It is is the seventh highest mountain in the world at 8,167 metres above sea level, and it is situated west of the Annapurna massive, divided by the Kali Gandaki gorge where the Gandaki river flows.

This picture was taken at an altitude of ca 3200 meter when I was walking from Kagbeni to Muktinath on an alternative 17 km trail. I didn't take the normal one that is part of the Annapurna circuit, because that part is now spoiled by a road where a lot of traffic is making your day very dusty.

As you can see the view is rather clear but also here there was quite some haze in the lower part of the mountains.

The landscape is very bare, in the lower part everything was still in its winter sleep, spring had barely begun.
