Unpatient oystercatcher chicks

Exactly a year ago I made this shot while travelling through Denmark. It seems ages ago, while on the other hand time flies. The June month last year was wonderful, very sunny and warm, while until now the month was cold and the weather very variable.

I took this shot at the island of Mandö. I first went to Römö (a Waddensea island) but because of mass tourism I fled from there, and ended up at this little gem (when you like solitude) where Oystercatcher were the main birds around. They nestled everywhere, and caused a lot of noise when you came too close.

This scene was at the local campsite, and it was very amusing to see these youngsters chasing their parents. Whenever it had caught something the young ran towards one of them, and literally pulled the prey out of the mouth of their parents. They were also curious to see what they were doing.
