Kagbeni view on the start of the Mustang Area (In Explore 01-06-2024)
I recently got back from my three months travel to and in Nepal. For sure it was an experience I will never forget, but it was not only positive. I will come back to that later. I would like to start with this nice image from a viewpoint close to the little village of Kagbeni. Although it is still in the Annapurna region, it is also the start to the Mustang area.
Here you see how impressive the streambeds are of the rivers. It is the Kali Gandaki, and because of the dry season it is almost dry. In the monsoon period it is a roaring river that transports large amounts of sand, silt, and rocks down in to the lower valleys. I never saw those amounts anywhere else in the world.
