Winterbirds (part 2)

A (very) rare bird in the Netherlands and presumably only here to stay in winter is the ferruginous duck.

This white-eyed duck has been swimming around in the Hogekamp lakes for several months now, but until recently I didn't feel like getting wet because of the November and December showers.

The first time it was dry after my trip to Cabo Verde I went, but the result was not good enough, so when the sun threatened to break through on the next day I went back.

Initially I could not find the intended subject, but on the way back the gentleman suddenly swam past me - completely relaxed - and to do me a favor he turned around a few more times (about 10 meters away).

I am very satisfied with the result this time. The details come out beautifully.
