Hunting high and low

Another shot from the Lauwerslake, and from the same location as this one flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/52811946625/stats/.

 

Until last year I hardly had nice shots of western marsh harriers, but at this bird observation spot, there were quite a few of them and you could see them regularly hunting, and what was even better not far away, as I normally had experienced, but close by, so close that I sometimes missed them because of that.

 

And it is not often that I had seen them in this position with their whole body visible from above. But here they were diving and going up all the time, resulting in this image.
