View on Alleghe (in Explore 02-11-2022)
When you travel for 5 weeks in the Dolomites, one of the nice things about it is, that the day travels are rather short. You often need to drive only 20 kilometers and then there is another wonderful place to admire, and in every corner of the road there goes another walking trail, perfectly signposted.
And when you stand on top of a mountain you sometimes discover that the place you see, you have seen before, because actually you have been there already.
That happened to me here. I was walking a long hike in the area of the Civetta with a great view on Monte Pelmo (more later), when I crossed the rim, saw a little lake (lago di Coldai), and decided to walk a little further to the next rim, and there this wonderful panorama opened up, with a view on the city and the lake of Alleghe. I had stayed here for ca 4 days, because the weather was awful, and I decided to wait it out in Alleghe before going further.
