The mouse whisperer
Until a year ago I hardly had any pictures of marsh harriers but that is a thing of the past after my travels through the Netherlands.
Normally you only see them floating in the air hunting for chicks and mice, but a few weeks ago in Eemnes (yes, yes) I was able to watch this specimen for hours in a newly mown meadow looking for mice.
And apparently it was a candy store, because he was succesful at least 5 times, and greedily gobbled one after the other (the life of a mouse is not easy, and is often short).
Other birds also joined the party (3 buzzards, 2 storks, 2 blue herons and 5 white herons). David Attenborough calls this a feeding frenzy.
