The three ducketeers
Since four weeks I am travelling through the Netherlands enjoying spring and visiting areas where birds can be admired. For that reasons I am hardly on Flickr.
This shot is from the beginning of my trip and showes three male ruddy ducks. They are not native, but have escaped from ?private collections, and originally they live in the western part of America and Canada.
In the Netherlands they can be found in areas close to the Ijsselmeer where they breed in small numbers.
I had never seen them before, and instantaneously fell in love with their beautifully colored beaks!
Back home in a few weeks I have a lot of sorting to do, but June will be another travel month.
