The landscape that loves you (in Explore 10-12-2021)

The Dolomites often made me feel this way. How often didn't I think it must be one of the best places for people to live. Incredible nature with those wonderfully shaped mountain peaks, the wonderful green fertile valleys, scenic in its own way, where cows wander around and also seem to enjoy life, and the lovely chalets everywhere. Also the tidy villages with the pittoresque churches, the nice architecture, great weather in summer and snow in winter, and finally the friendly and relaxed people, isn't this the way life should be? I really envy the people living in this wonderful area of Europe.

I took this shot when driving from San Martin de Tor to Santa Barbara in the Val di Funes. A narrow road and scenic all the way. So I had to hop out of my camper every now and then. In the back the Odle group, and my goal for the next day the church of Santa Barbara that you can see as a tiny spot somewhere above the middle on the right. Autumn is now on its way, and while during that time I mainly had seen yellow larches, the first red deciduous trees started to show their wonderful colors.
