Pop! goes the weasel
I have so many shots from last year that I didn't post, that it is hard to choose which to show, but this one (and several others that I took during this storks happy meal) was always on my mind somewhere.
I took it more than a year ago, and it was the first time I saw a stork that swallowed a mouse. In fact it swallowed several within a few minutes, and it always amazes me to see how easy it is for them to catch a mouse. I never see one, but for storks and kestrels it is hardly difficult. For them it seems like the candy store.
For mice to survive they have only one weapon (and they are very good at it), that is to produce as much as offspring that they can.
