A whale, a dolphin and two birds.

My Canada trip had two goals: 1) visiting my sister helping each other to get over the death of our mother who died at the end of April; and 2) seeing whales. I had read somewhere that the St Lawrence bay was full with all sorts of whales and if you're lucky you even could see the blue whale, the ever largest living creature in the world.

And yes, the saint Lawrence bay was a wonderful experience! From Brighton Ontario I went straight to Tadoussac that's in the heart of the marine park, and the day after I went to the camp site Les Bergeronnes, where I spent 5 days whale watching on the shore (and one boat trip), every 5 minutes or so seeing whales popping up.

On the fifth day, around sunset I took the boat from Les Escoumins to Trois Pistoles, where this shot was taken. You can see a minky whale ( I guess) - breathing out - , and if you look good, you can see a dolphin somewhere in the water.

The south and the north shore of the bay are very different. The north shore has lots of rocks, while the south part is a little more sandy, and it is a fantastic drive all along! I finally headed to PN Gaspésie, where I spent 3 very cold nights in my tent (with all my clothes in my sleeping bag), but the park is wonderful, and I will some nice shots later!

Back in the direction of Brighton I spent a few hours in old Quebec, and drove the 1000 islands road, along the saint Lawrence river.

I certainly can recommend everybody who loves nature doing this trip. It should take around 2 weeks!
