My favorite bird is back
One of the highlights of the year, the return of the godwits in my favorite bird paradise (Eemnes). One of the reasons for going back each year is to see them flying, and that is a spectacular vista.
Whenever there is danger they explode, like the shot that is one of the most spectacular I have ever made (www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/32693592953/in/datepo...)!
What is so great to see is they all the time switch directions in a synchronized way, and it looks like a signal from white to black to white to black etc.
Very addictive!
In Eemes the godwits gather for a few weeks and by then they are with thousands of them, finding a mate before going further.
