Bilbo was here
Some people have associations with hobbits and Middle earth when I show my pictures. So here might be another association. If you have read the Hobbit you know trolls were turned into stone because they were quarreling which dwarfs were to be eaten, and Bilbo keeping the conversation going until it became light and the trolls turning into stone at that moment. Here you see one of the victims.
This shot was taken after I was at Stegastein (www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/31024606840), and although it was late at night I drove on higher up, because someone had told me there would be even a better view on the fjord higher up. I never found that spot, but higher up the sun started to shine again and I encountered a stunning landscape, that I had completely missed. When driving from Ardal to Flam I took the fast road through one of the longest tunnels Europe has. That was a stupid decision although I didn't know there was an old road (Bjoergavegen) that was so spectacular.
Norway, a stunningly beautiful country. Around every corner a chance for a scenic image, forcing me from time to time to stop every kilometer to get out of my car, sometimes with screeching brakes, and sometimes forcing me to curse because there was no place to stop.
Lovely valleys, bare mountains and cold winds, snow packs, glaciers, beautiful lakes, and then there are the enchanting fjords that never stop to amaze. The most beautiful country of Europe, for me no doubt about that, with only one minor aspect, which is the weather. During my month of traveling I only had 4 really nice days, the rest of the time clouds, rain, and very changeable! Still no regret, and I will go back to make even more than the 3500 pictures that I took this time.
Another very active vacation that took me to the south west up to Trondheim in a sort of triangle between Oslo- Trondheim and Bergen with the whole route visible here (www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153668247101759&set...).
