Stilt at Dusk (Explored)

One of my favorite times to shoot is the thirty minutes before the sun dips below the horizon. Everything is bathed in soft, golden light and many diurnal critters start getting settled in for the night. On the flip side, many other animals start getting more active around this time, actively looking for a meal. Among those is the American Alligator. I had to keep checking my periphery as I lay in the mud at the edge of this marsh to make sure the gators kept their distance.

Here, a Black-necked Stilt (Himantopus mexicanus) tries to look for a before-bed snack before calling it a night.
