the vast land of lian batangas used to be a hacienda that was administered by the jesuits as early as 1666. the granary in the hacienda was converted to st john the baptist church around 1807. in the 1950's the original church was demolished and converted to the present church structure which does not show any resemblance to its historic past. the new church features a modern architectural design and highly polished marble tiled flooring. despite these features, recognition of its date of establishment is endeared by its community and hopefully future generations may appreciate as well.
