pakil church laguna (explore)
san pedro de alcantara is the patron saint of this church which was built in 1767. history records the construction as taking up to 35 years to complete. although the interior and exterior has undergone several renovations and restorations. i can, in my humble opinion, declare that this church is a masterpiece of preservation and proper restoration in harmony to its history. enshrined in this church is the "virgin of turumba" which like "obando church" boasts of a special dance called the "turumba" to honor the image. the celebration is held every May of the year. the altars, ceilings and walls are all elaborately decorated with preserved classical images of saints and murals. within the confines of the church is a smaller chapel or camarin room which has an altar and pews locally carved by native craftsmen and are just magnificent. this church is a sight to behold and experience and i am sure the town of pakil is proud of the rich history contained in this church
