this is another version of the popular philippine dessert, halo halo . this version, which hails from pampanga, a province to the north of manila, features lesser ingredients than its more popular cousin but, what sets it apart is the use of water buffalo milk instead of the usual evaporated milk. the ingredients of this halo halo are sliced sweet bananas, shredded young coconut, jackfruit and a slice of caramel custard. the different ingredients are served in ground ice then , in some instances, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. bon appetit on this sweet indulgence !
