barbeque or satay

this is called satay in the southern philippines and the rest of southeast asia. but in manila and majority of the philippines, any skewered food cooked over heat is called a barbeque, which the the americans fondly call their grilled food, and Filipinos copy everything the americans do. be that as it may, the preparation of the barbeque resembles more its southeast asian cousins and it is eaten with a sauce that is a blend of soy sauce with vinegar or lime, garnished with onions, chilis, garlic and the occasional sugar (to taste). a stick of bbq costs between USD20 cents to USD40 cents each. bon appetit!
