Manual Recycling Collection in Aurora, Illinois
Republic Services' hauling site in Aurora, Illinois operated multiple Browning Ferris Industries (BFI) branded vehicles into 2014, when its fleet underwent major changes as new Mack LEU Heil Freedoms went into service. As a result, most BFI trucks were either taken out of service or sent to other hauling sites in rural areas. More recently, the Aurora hauling operation was acquired by Waste Connections as part of an asset swap. As a result, the trucks currently operating out of Aurora are being rebranded in Groot Industries livery, the name Waste Connections operates under in the Chicagoland area.
Aside from the changes in ownership, residents in Aurora have also began receiving automated collection. Carts were rolled out in the city during the Summer of 2015, when Republic Services was still the service provider.
This BFI Labrie Manual Side Loader was seen working in the City's Stonebridge neighborhood.
