GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER CHECKING IF MY GARDEN IS SAFE

A Great Spotted Woodpecker flew in from the mist onto the self-seeded Elderberry tree on the edge of my wildlife garden. I had heard the distinctive call and spotted a pair in a distant big tree through my binoculars. To my excitement this male came closer and then decided it was safe. Dorset England.
