Roll Your Own Stereo Cables

I whipped together a new stereo wire for my car / iphone setup. It is

just some thrift store cat-3 cable and two 1/8" gold plated adapters.

Network cables make stereo speaker wire as well. I've been using cat-5

on my speakers for 8 years now.

 

A note on fancy stereo cables. Gold is not as good a conductor as

silver or copper. Gold plating is just used because the other popular

conductors oxidize easily.
