A load of old Hogwarts!!!! Stanier 4-6-0 ‘Black Five’ 45407 flies across the magic bridge at Glenfinnan
It’s not easy to take this shot without compromising yourself. Stanier Black 5 45407, ‘The Lancashire Fusilier’ negotiates the famous viaduct at Glenfinnan, immortalised in the Harry Potter films. With onboard photographers vying for position. competition for the Window in the doors proved to be rather fierce. The fallback position meant resorting to taking any shot of the train negotiating the bridge, by using the top sliding window to get that ‘one particular shot’ of the moment…..well here’s the result of my endeavours. The engine brakes at the end of the viaduct to stop in Glenfinnan where all passengers will be able to spend 15 minutes swarming all over the station while getting in each other’s way, or buying souvenirs. But hey-Ho. It is what it is. A dramatic location nonetheless!
