Vizier Nakhti
Statue of the Vizier Nakhti, from Asyut, Dynasty XII.
Wooden statue of the Vizier, Nakhti, from Asyut, (Tomb 7) during the reign of Senwosret I.
Stylistically this standing figure of the vizier Nakhti with its highly elongated proportions, is typical of the period. He wears a calf-length kilt rendered in smooth planes meeting at sharpedges. The body and head are only flatly and sparingly modelled. A particular gesture distinguishes this figure from many other similar statues; Nakhti places his right hand in a fold of his kilt.
Painted Acacia wood with inlaid eyes.
