Employees of Oil giant Total vote to remain on strike at the company's refinery in Fort Mardyck on March 9, 2010. Oil giant Total announced yesterday the closure of its refinery in northern France but vowed to protect jobs by reassigning workers at the strike-hit plant.Total promised not to lay off the 370 workers at the refinery, for whom it plans restructuring measures, including a new fuel depot and training centre, as it winds down its refining operations by 2013.
