Lucky's Market - West Melbourne, FL
Winn-Dixie #2268 / Lucky's Market #31
3170 W. New Haven Ave., Melbourne, FL - Plaza West
This Winn-Dixie opened in 1980, and remained relatively untouched for most of its existence (other than a quick remodel to the Purple/Maroon décor in the early 2000’s). Unfortunately, the plaza's landlord chose not to renew Winn-Dixie's lease, which expired in January 2016. This store officially closed on November 24, 2015, two and a half weeks earlier than originally expected. The Winn-Dixie was replaced by Brevard County's first location of Lucky's Market on January 11, 2017.
And this was my lunch for the day, some of Lucky’s pizza (which is very good – I highly recommend it if you’re ever near a Lucky’s). The pizza on the left was a slice of “Lucky’s Supreme” (with toppings so fresh, one of the crushed olives on it still contained a pit – thankfully I caught that before I broke a tooth!) and the slice on the right was the meatball pizza.
