Antica fortezza di un castello vescovile risalente al VI sec. Sabiona nel 1680 divenne un convento di monache benedettine, con la chiesa di Nostra Signora (a sn. ) e la chiesa della Santa Croce (a dx.). Le mura esterne di quest'ultima risalgono ad una basilica romanica del XII secolo.
Ancient fortress of a bishop's castle dating back to the sixth century Sabiona became a convent of Benedictine nuns in 1680.
In the photo you can see the church of Our Lady on the left and the church of the Holy Cross on the right. The latter was built within the walls of a Romanesque basilica dating back to the twelfth century.
