Franklin Falls and Denny Creek 7-23-2025

Seiichii, Kazue, and I pulled off two hikes. First stop: Franklin Falls. When we reached the waterfall, we were surprised to find two women in flowing gowns striking dramatic poses holding onto a pole while a photographer orchestrated what looked like a high-fashion photo shoot… in the middle of the wilderness. Fascinating stuff.

After lunch, we headed to the Denny Creek waterslide. It was packed with people splashing around and having a blast. I decided to join in the fun—very cautiously—but while trying to walk across a slippery rock, I pulled off a move best described as “accidental aquatic gymnastics” and slid right into the waterslide. Totally unplanned, mildly painful, and deeply embarrassing.
