Archangel Colors
This is the first of a few photos I will be posting of my recent trip to Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California. I went on the Subway hike earlier this year (as you can see from my prior posts here) but could immediately tell that this place would be magical in the fall. I was able to take a vacation from residency during the peak color and it was amazing!! I woke up early and got to the parking lot well before light and I was the first person there. I made it down and hiked for a while in the dark too. There was some early cloud cover that I thought was going to snuff out the light. Eventually the clouds burned off and I got some amazing glow!! I had this place all to myself again and it was such a treat to be able to take my time and enjoy a place like this with nobody else around. This image ended up being a 6 image panoramic with focus stacking. Overall, it turned out to be a 21 frame image. The other crazy part about this is the limited editing required. I obviously had to merge the photos, but I did very little to correct the colors or contrast - the light was perfect. Anyway, I was super excited to go here again and I was super excited to see the images when I got back. I hope you all can enjoy my photo place, even if its just a fraction as much as I do! :)
