Singapore's National Stadium

The world’s largest dome structure, complete with retractable roof: National Stadium. With adjustable seating depending on the event, you can fit up to 55,000 people! Don’t tell One Direction, though, they only sold 29,000 tickets when they played. It’s part of the Singapore Sports Hub, an area with an absurd amount of things to do. An aquatic centre, another indoor stadium, shopping mall, water park, skate park, lawn bowling green, climbing wall, beach volleyball court, sports library, and museum. What is a sports library even supposed to be? I assume a collection of Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition issues. The entire Sports Hub holds up 80,000 people throughout the other sports venues besides the National Stadium.

And because everything in Singapore is meticulously planned, the Sports Hub is part of the government’s “Vision 2030 sports master plan.” (They evidently missed the memo about the phrase “master plan” belonging to villains and evil masterminds) Vision 2030 is the Singapore Sports Council’s 20 year road map for using sport as a strategy for Singaporeans to have a healthier and better life through the impactful experience of Sport. America’s Vision 2030 is probably just hope that we’re still able to move around without the help of rascal scooters.

BONUS POINTS: At night, both sides of the massive retractable roof become giant projector screens!
