Plymouth Barbican
I was in Plymouth on Wednesday afternoon & decided to stay overnight.
20 minutes before sunset the sky was blue with no cloud & the forecast said clear sky so nearly stayed in..
Luckily I decided to drive down to the Barbican anyway.
Here we're standing in the North East corner of Sutton Harbour on Plymouth's Barbican - (Britain's Ocean City) - looking South.
The wave shaped building on the far left is the National Marine Aquarium, immediately to the right is the China House - a wonderful characterful building dating back to the 1600s that used to be a warehouse but is now a cosy pub - my favourite watering hole when in Plymouth thanks to the waterfront views - great for lifting your spirits - (see what I did there?)
Behind the red boat to the right of the China House are the Mayflower steps from where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed almost 400 years ago to settle in Massachusetts.
Before they started spreading their DNA around, North America was pretty much made up of Eskimos chasing seals & fish in Alaska (whilst trying to avoid being eaten by Polar bears), and Native Red Indians with feathers in their hair firing bows & arrows.
There weren't any iPhones, so communicating was mostly done using smoke signals which could be difficult if the wind was too strong or blowing the wrong way (lost or dropped signals)
If you're American & one of those people who likes to show off your DNA on your profile page - chances are your genes may have passed through here at one time! :)
Many thanks to everyone who took the trouble to view comment or fave - always much appreciated :)
