I'd been at the Eastern edge of the woods since before dawn for the moment the Sun came up & beyond, & got some pretty decent shots, but I'd really been hoping for more mist.

The edge of the woods is fairly high & mist prefers to wallow in low areas. I also find mist is just elusive & unpredictable at the best of times - you can have thick fog in one place and nothing round the corner & if the wind picks up it can go in the blink of an eye.

I'd already figured as I was driving down the M3 that this spot might be worth a look shortly after sunrise after I'd finished around the edge of the woods & it didn't disappoint

Nice to get some fairly good sunrays here too - got quite excited to witness this view - I rarely get good sunray shots so to get them with this beautiful bluebell wood at its peak as well, was worth seeking them out - special moment when your plans & preparation bear fruit.
