This looks like an upsidedown steel pan drum. It took some research on my part to find out what it is. It is called a Hang Drum and was developed in Switzerland about 10 years ago. The fact that it is played with the hands instead of sticks gives it a nice soft sound. The music was beautiful and ethereal.
