The Ring of Thanksgiving, featuring a woman carrying a ring, will be the focal point of Thanksgiving Square.
The globe on which she stands was cast in Scotland and work on the rest of the statue is nearing completion at metal fabricators PFC Copeland Newtownabbey.
It is hoped the £300,000 statue will be ensconsed in Lanyon Place in mid-April.
The Belfast statue has been created by renowned Scottish artist Andy Scott, whose works include the Ibrox disaster memorial and the Heavy Horse in Glasgow.
The cost of the project has been raised through public and private contributions to the Thanksgiving Square charity, which aims to create an area of refelction and thanksgiving.
Lord Diljit Rana is the chairman of the Thanksgiving Square charity. He said the aim of the project was to create some public space for giving thanks.
"It will be a focal point for the community here in Northern Ireland, for everybody to get together, it doesn't matter what their background is or religion, colour, or faith.
"The whole idea is to bring the community together," he said.
Thanksgiving Square was the brainchild of Belfast woman Myrtle Smyth, 74, inspired by visiting the Thanksgiving Square in Dallas, Texas.
