Milk Weed 289 of 365 (Year 7)

Monarch butterflies lay their eggs only on one plant and that plant is milkweed (genus Asclepias). Unfortunately, milkweed often has a bad reputation. While awareness is rising around the importance of milkweed (as well as other native plants) for pollinators misconceptions need to be clarified. Because the fact is, planting the right species of milkweed for your area can be a huge help for monarchs and a number of other species.

Milkweed is a beautiful plant offering a habitat where monarchs lay their eggs. Milkweed is easy to grow and adds interest to the home garden.
