Summer in the city

A walk through Sydney's Hyde Park and a short pause to appreciate our ANZAC Memorial there, a superb Art Deco monument designed by C. Bruce Dellit. Built between 1932 and 34.

 

I tend to look upon war memorials as representations of the profound human cost of war rather than the victorious outcome.

 

Centre Point Tower can be seen in the background, still the tallest structure in Sydney. Construction began in 1970 and public access started from 1981. I've had dinner at the Infinity revolving restaurant on level 81 which was most memorable.
